Waffle Flower February release Blog Hop

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the Waffle Flower February Release Blog Hop! I’m happy to be hopping with the folks from Waffle Flower to show you all the fun new stuff awaiting you on the Waffle Flower website! Be sure to check out each stop in today’s blog hop for fun, inspiration, and chances to win some of these new release goodies!

I have a  lot of cards to share with you today. This month is all about Card Designing and we will share some card designing tips and we have a lot of new fun products to make the card making process much easier. The first one is - Designer Template 1 Die Set.

TIP. Build a background

When I'm struggling with what and where to put on the card I always look for a card sketch and the basic shape dies help a lot! And now we have a perfect die set series to build quick and easy card backgrounds. The only thing you will need is a sentiment or other stamped image.

I made a few sketches that work with this die set and below you can find my card samples.

On my dirst card I combined Designer Template 1 Die Set with our new flowers - Daffodil - March Birth Flower Stamp Set.

And on the second with a large sentiment - Oversized Happy Word Die and heat embossed Daffodils.

Daffodil - March Birth Flower Stamp Set comes with coordinating stencils for coloring and all my flowers I colored with inks in seconds. Only on the next card I used a red alcohol marker to add a border on the flower's centre. I embelished the card with green enamel dots and for the card backgrouind I used white and pattern paper with lines from - .

 TIP. Make a pattern.
Besides the new floral stamps we have a new small flower die - Layered Flowers Die, that can be used as focal point near the sentiemnt or can be used for creating floral frames or simple patterns on the cards.

Another must have product for easy card designing is border die. Any kind or any shape :) But it has to be with an open edge like our new dies - On the Edge Trio Die set. The open edge will allow you to create any size panels with a shaped border vertical or horizontal.

For my first card I cut out a vertical panel with tiny envelopes from a regular white cardstock. I foam mount it on a leftover paper piece with alcohol inks. I stamped my sentiments and embellished the card with a few black enamel dots.

TIP. Color Combo
On the next card I cut out the same panel but for a horizontal A2 card. I adhered small pieces of a black glitter cardstock behind the envelopes. I applied black ink through the Random Tiny Dot Stencil on a card panel to balance the black envelopes.

TIP. Use clear embellishments on a busy background.
On my third example I used another border die from the On the Edge Trio Die set. I cut out small white stripes to embellish the top and the bottom of my ink blended card. To create this card background I used Abstract Stencil Quad and distress inks.
I embellished the card with clear enamel dots just to add some almost invisible accents on the card, they make a difference for sure!

Next on the hop is JJ Bolton!
